MELODY R. DIXON

Melody Renee Dixon was born Feb 22, 1962 in Chicago, IL to Ruth Mae Dixon and DeWillie Sargent Sr.,who proceed her in death. She was the youngest of 8 children.

She graduated from Willa Cather elementary school and attended Lucy Flowers High School in  Chicago, IL.

She joined church and confessed her love for Christ at an early age. 

Melody was a caring and giving person which inspired her decision to attend Harold Washington college to become a certified nursing assistant. As a Certified nursing assistant Melody provided care for those in need with a kind and gentle hand.

The pride of Melody’s life was her three daughters, Atlantis, Dominique and Shoneka and her two nephews Laron and Lashawn. They were the light of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored.

Melody was hospitalized several times. The Lord knew how much she could bear and on Thursday, May 13, 2021 the Lord called her home to rest. 

Melody leaves to cherish  sweet Memories of a loving life three daughters, Atlantis Dixon-Santos, Dominique Dixon and Shoneka Dixon; two nephews, Laron Ellis and Lashawn Holman;   Three sisters Margaret Land (deceased) Rosemary Winsley (Fred)  and Ruth Dixon-Henderson; Five brothers DeWillie Sargent, Lorenzo(expired),Joseph(expired),Larry(expired), and Ronnie(expired).

Her grandchildren Catrell, Nyla, Damoree', Jalon, Cornelius, Bukolade,  LeMaruis, Xavier, Lyric, Travys, Amir, Leila and A’Niya, her cousins Susie Streter and Eric Pate, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, god children and friends.
