On July 16,1936 Frank and Ruby Lymon of New Augusta, Mississippi welcomed their sixth child Minnie Pearl Lymon. Minnie was the third of five daughters born in a close-knit family that consisted of ten children. The family eventually relocated to Richton, Mississippi where Minnie attended Elementary and High School.
Upon graduating and receiving her Diploma from Richton High School, Minnie decided to follow her dreams and join three of her older siblings in Chicago, Illinois. Being the adventurous person that was she went ahead and enrolled in Barber College and became a licensed Barber.
It was here in Chicago where the siblings established their Christian roots and joined Gammon United Methodist Church, which is now known as Resurrection United Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member.
On November 5, 1959, Minnie and Randolph Williams were joined together in Holy Matrimony and enjoyed 64 years of life together. This union produced two beautiful daughters Maria Simone and Sanrain Marell. It was in this household where so many fond memories were created with extended family and friends. Minnie was also the perfect host for out-of-town relatives and friends visiting Chicago. The house was filled with warmth, food, joy, and laughter.
