Mae Williams was born to Hamp Williams and Carrie LewisWilliams on June 30, 1946 in Gould, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Church of Christ in Tillar, Arkansas. Mae attended Tillar Elementary School. Thereafter, she attended Wolfe High School.
Mae was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love. She lived a life rooted in family, faith, and resilience, and her presence was a blessing to all who knew her. She was the heart of our family, the one who held us together through laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Mae had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Her home was a place of comfort, her words carried wisdom, and her love was constant and sure. She gave freely of herself, always putting others before her, and teaching by example what it meant to love deeply and live fully.
Mae leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years alone, but in the lives she touched. Her strength lives on in her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandson. Her lessons, prayers, and stories will continue to guide us long after her physical presence is gone.
On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Mae’s body became tired and God said, “your task on earth has been completed, my child, a job well done.” God took her by the hand and leaded her into her heavenly resting place. She is now reunited with her father and mother, Hamp and Carrie Lewis Williams, two sisters, Laura Williams and Helen Buie, and one nephew Jamison Butler.
Mae leaves to cherish her precious memory: one child, Deborah (Reginald), one grandchild, Arishe’ (Robert Jr.), one bonus grandson, Joshua (Brittany), one great grandchild, Amyr, two sisters, Jessie Butler and Alma “Jean” Williams, two nieces, Cherise (Ontario Sr.), and Chinika, four nephews, Earl, Glen (ShKeitha), James and Shawn, & a special sister/friend, Carloyn.
