Pastor. Rodney Beasley Obituary

Rodney Farrell Beasley (Jabari) entered this life on December 13 th,
1964. He was given by God’s Grace and Mercy to his parents Mable
Beasley-Harris and Gary May. Rodney was an obedient and loving
soul who was always willing to help in any manner that he thought
would be beneficial to anyone. So, the seed was planted at an early
age to always help your fellow man. This seed started with him and
his brother Greg learning with their great grandfather (Mann Green)
on Sunday mornings baking biscuits and being given gems of
knowledge. After baking it was time to get dressed and go to
Metropolitan MBC with his Grandma Lynn to praise and worship.
Here he was given many strong examples of men who loved Christ
and shaped the foundation of him undoubtedly becoming a teacher,
Elder, and Pastor. There was nothing that separated Rodney from the
Love of Christ. He was a constant ambassador seeking to always
introduce others to Jesus Christ.

Rodney has many lifelong friends from his school years from Leif
Ericson, Schruz HS, NIU, and Mortuary Science School. He was
always the friend you could count on for support, and his friends
supported him as brethren should in each other’s endeavors, trials,
and tribulations.

Naturally as a young man he attracted the attention of young ladies
and on August 13, 1991, he and Sheila Humphrey-Caesar were
married. Their union blessed them with Ebony, Jabari, and Sade.

Rodney/Jabari loved his children dearly and they reciprocate his love
by building a bond that ensures a legacy of Lovingkindness.

Rodney joined Mt. Olive Church in 1989 and then he joined Promised
Hope Church of 1991 under the leadership of Pastor Harold
Washington. He worked faithfully and tirelessly as a Covenant of
Christ. Because of his love for teaching the word of Christ he often
purchased the bible of your choice so that you would be completely
comfortable in establishing your relationship with Christ.

Ever seeking to not be out of alignment with the Word of Christ he
joined Praise & Worship under the leadership of Pastor Clifton
Taylor in 1998. While worshiping at Praise and Worship he was often
paired with fellow members to offer outreach initiatives. This is
where God offered him yet another chance at love and he would meet
his faithful helpmate, Donna Allen. One Sunday Pastor Taylor
announced Rodney and Donna were dating and then the Holy Spirit
led Rodney to propose to Donna over the pulpit in song. (And we all
know his vocal cords were challenged) lol On June 27, 2009 they were
married. To this union Rodney was given 5 other children Everett,
Tia, Jaquez, Tivonte, and Tianna whom he loved.

On January 10, 2010, Rodney was ordained as a Pastor and
Lovingkindness Ministries was born. Rodney formed a relationship
with Pastor Robert Johnson of GA who prayed with him every
sunday. Together Rodney and Donna worked diligently in building a
rooted foundation in their commitment to Christ and the church.
Spreading the gospel in the pulpit gave Rodney great comfort but his

joy was even greater when he introduced Christ to strangers and
those who were thought of as less than. In his eyes all people were
deserving of agape love.

Rodney worked at Entenmann’s bakery for 17 years where he met a
lot of his church founders and members. He enjoyed being in the
company of like-minded individuals. They continued to keep in
contact after Rodney’s departure. He then worked many jobs for 8
years that were on the journey predestined for HIS life mission. But
God, after 8 long years of winging it, his Entenmann’s family kept
calling him to seek employment with Nabisco Company and not only
was he hired but he was RESTORED every benefit that he had when
he left Entenmann’s. Oh, to be obedient to God’s commandments! He
would often bring treats from work to anyone who he thought liked
them. He always enjoyed sweets and treats, especially home-made
desserts. He was also an excellent cook.

God wrote the vision and made it clear. Rodney executed the
assignment that God gave him with laser focused precision. We all
have fallen short of God’s glory and on life’s journey. We are given
many choices, decisions and paths that ultimately define our
humanity. When we reflect upon Rodney’s time with us, I’m sure
many of you will have a smile on your face in remembrance of a kind
work or deed that gave you encouragement or just that
Lovingkindness that he displayed so beautifully.

As Rodney enters his New Kingdom home resting from his labor to
his reward let us rejoice in the magnitude of his unselfish generosity

and celebrate his life of always pressing toward the mark. He leaves
to cherish his memories, his wife Donna, his parents Mable and
Hubert Harris, his Grandmother Erma Curlett, his children Ebony
Hudson (Keon), Jabari, Sade, Everett (Octavia), Tia, (Jauan), Jaquez,
Tivonte, and Tianna (Darrius) his grandkids Tyjae, Jamaria, Jada,
Zavion, Royal, Anissa, Everett III, DaMahrion, Evan, Jamari, Eniya,
Mark, Errianna, Jordan, and Dream. His siblings Gregory (Pauline),
Carmen (Al), Yolanda (Joe), Yvonne, Andrea, Rashawn (Bryant), and
June, Denny, David (Nicole), Hubert, Mandela, and Keisha. His In-
Laws Cleophus, Penny, James (Virginia), Kim and a dear friend
Tommy Godbold. We will continue to carry your Lovingkindness
spirit within us, igniting the path for those behind us. Your many
nieces and nephews and their children will miss you on this side,
but the good news is we still have time to strive to achieve a Christ
led life of service to others. While it hurts our earthly flesh to no
longer be in your presence, we will always be grateful to our faithful
God for allowing you to touch so many lives in such a meaningful,
direct, and compassionate manner. To God be the Glory for all he has done. take your rest
