In Loving Memory of Rodwell Roberts
Rodwell Roberts, affectionately known as “Carol”, was born on April 1, 1947 in Portland, Jamaica to the late Vincent Roberts and Etta Smith.
Carol accepted Christ at a young age at St. Mark Angelica Church in Boston, Jamaica. He attended Boston Primary School and joined Jamaica’s Constabulary Force where he became a police officer. He was also a correctional officer, and a security officer of the Bank of Jamaica. He later attended Cobbler’s Vocational Academy where he trained and became skilled in home construction and repairs along with order trades.
Carol migrated to the United States in 1988 and resided in Chicago, IL where he spent the remaining years of his life.
He will be remembered for his willingness to help with home and car repairs, his loud and enthusiastic expressions for life, and his love for his grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by his father Vincent Roberts, his mother Etta Smith, and his sister Faith Fletcher.
He leaves behind memories in the hearts of many. Four children-Neil Roberts, Neville Roberts, Mauvette Roberts, and Andre Roberts; Grandchildren; Aiden, Taylor, Asha-Kay, and Ashwane; One brother-Locksley Fletcher of St. Catherine, Jamaica; three sisters-Jennis Phillips of Port St. Lucie, FL, Georgia Fletcher of Chicago, IL , and Evern Fletcher of Coral Springs, FL. He was a fond uncle to Cachet, Duwanna, Nicholas, Lisa, and Kelci; and a host of many family members and friends.
